Why We Love Vanilla Beans
Wilderness Poets is proud to offer Whole Vanilla Beans. The Vanilla Planifolia, or Vanilla Orchid, is grown on the islands of the South Pacific, where the Vanilla bean is harvest from the flower by hand. The beans are cured in the sun for days to reach their optimum potency.
To Use:
Cut a vanilla bean in half and then split each half down the center using a sharp paring knife. Use the blade of the knife to scrape out all of the seeds to use in your recipe. Substitute 1 vanilla bean pod in place of 1 tsp vanilla extract.

This exquisite variety of vanilla has an intense vanilla flavor that is stronger than most extracts or beans. They are a rich black/brown color and have intense Vanilla aroma. The beans are best used for dishes that call for vanilla as the primary flavor.
