The Valley is our blend of super-potent adaptogens intentionally crafted to support the female sexual chalice and offers a range of benefits to encourage overall health and well-being. This blend may assist and support hormonal balance, digestive health, reproductive health and exert a cooling, calming effect on the whole system. Commonly used in Ayurveda, Shatavari is used to support female reproductive and digestive health, as well as for its potential rejuvenating and nourishing effects on the body and organs (1). In a published study from 2000, scientists noted that Shatavari, Asparagus racemosus, is “classified in Ayurveda as rasayanas which are reputed to promote physical and mental health, improve defense mechanisms of the body and enhance longevity. These attributes are similar to the modern concept of adaptogenic agents, which are, known to afford protection of the human physiological system against diverse stressors (2)” It may provide strength, energy, promote fertility and support healthy libido, and is celebrated as a natural aphrodisiac. It is said to moisturize the respiratory tract, support a healthy urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract (1). Cooling effects on the body from Shatavari can be enjoyed by both women and men. Next up in this blend is the Ashoka tree, a sacred rainforest tree found in India whose bark, leaves, roots, flowers and seeds are reputed for having spiritual and health benefits. Its bark has been used for supporting women’s menstrual health to help alleviate symptoms of pms (3). “The bark of the Ashoka tree has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties (4).” Next in this blend we have Himalayan cedar, a tree used in Ayurveda, with anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and insect repellent properties (5). Next up, Indian Long Pepper is a plant that is mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic Sanskrit texts, described as a remedy for treatment of respiratory diseases as well as a treatment for supporting healthy intestinal flora. It may support healthy gastrointestinal and circulatory systems, the reproductive system and sexual energy (6). The final ingredient, Sesame, is known to have antioxidant effects on the body and according to a 2017 study published on the National Institute of Health, “research shows promise in decreasing high levels of cholesterol and inflammation* (7).”
