This single-origin Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is grown by a tiny cooperative in the mountains of Costa Rica with a major mission: to build healthy soil, support the community and rewild the jungle. Incredibly rich, super vibrant, and fresh, this turmeric is powdered gold! It can be used in smoothies and savory dishes, raw desserts, and in one of the healthiest drinks in this universe: Golden Milk Lattes!

Why We Love Turmeric

Turmeric, “The Queen of Spices” is loaded with the famous active compound, curcumin. Ancient Vedic and Chinese health practitioners have utilized this golden rhizome for thousands of years. It is deeply embedded into Asian history and cuisine. Turmeric is revered for its powerful immune-supporting properties. Loaded with antioxidants, iron, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin B6 Turmeric is a treasure chest overflowing with golden riches.

Our Golden Turmeric is grown in Costa Rica, but Turmeric is native to India and Southeast Asia and requires temperatures between 20 and 30 °C (68 and 86 °F) and a considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered annually for their rhizomes and propagated from some of those rhizomes in the following season.
